Cin'Kin Winter Edition

Flavored Gin · 45 % ABV · BE

Nine botanicals make up the winter version of Cin'Kin, and five of them are there to bring the season: orange peel, cinnamon, anise, ginger and cardamom. The other four, juniper, coriander, angelica root and liquorice root, are the classic foundations that keep it a gin. The edition is produced in Ciney, in the province of Namur, in small batchesSmall batchProduction in small quantities per distillation run, often in a small still. The term has no legal definition.Glossary released once a year, with packaging that changes each winter.

Citrus · Limited Edition · Spicy

The winter five are chosen for warmth rather than sweetness. Orange peel gives a warm citrus top, cinnamon and anise bring the aromatics of traditional winter confectionery, ginger introduces a gentle heat that adds texture rather than aggression, and cardamom deepens the whole with a fresh, slightly camphorous note. Liquorice root reinforces depth and persistence, while angelica and coriander keep the frame dry. The recipe stays close to Cin'Kin's clean distillation profile instead of turning into a spiced liqueur.

The nose opens on warm orange zest, followed by layered cinnamon and anise. The palate is rounded and smooth, balancing spice with a clear citrus foundation, ginger and cardamom building gradually. The finish is soft, mildly sweet in impression and long, leaning towards citrus spice rather than sugar. At 45%, the gin has the density to stand up to ice and dilutionDilutionThe water added by melting ice. In the right amount it opens the aromas and softens the alcohol; too much flattens the drink.Glossary, and to stirred winter drinks.

The Burma tonic from East Imperial leaves the spice room without covering it. A dehydrated orange wheel repeats the citrus of the recipe, and a cinnamon stick, singed for a few seconds, releases a warm, smoky scent over the drink. Hold the cinnamon in the flame only until it smokes lightly; any longer and it turns bitter. The singed stick also echoes the cinnamon already present in the recipe.
