Gins to love!

Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla is a flavoured gin created by Tanqueray as a tribute to the long-standing link between the house and the orange groves of southern Spain. Inspired by a 19th-century recipe developed after Charles Tanqueray’s travels in Spain, it was released in 2018 and quickly became a permanent expression in the range. The gin is distilled using the base of Tanqueray London Dry Gin – built on juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root and liquorice root – to which Seville orange essences and orange blossom are added.
On the nose, Flor de Sevilla opens with the bittersweet character of Seville oranges: aromas of orange zest, marmalade and candied peel are supported by juniper, a light floral note reminiscent of orange blossom and a discreet hint of spice from coriander. The overall impression is citrus-forward but still clearly anchored in a classic gin structure.
The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, with a clear juniper backbone wrapped in layers of sweet and bitter orange. Notes of tangerine, soft vanilla-like warmth and gentle spice from coriander and angelica create a round, slightly creamy texture. Liquorice from the London Dry base brings a subtle sweetness that balances the natural bitterness of Seville oranges without tipping into liqueur-like territory.
The finish is moderately long, with lingering flavours of orange peel, a touch of pithy bitterness and dry juniper. Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla is particularly well suited to simple serves where its citrus profile can shine: a classic Gin & Tonic with premium tonic water and a slice of orange, a Spritz-style long drink, or as a citrus-focused twist in cocktails such as the Negroni or Martini. Its combination of authentic Seville orange character and the recognisable Tanqueray base makes it an accessible entry into flavoured gin while remaining firmly grounded in traditional gin making.
