Gins to love!

Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin is produced in the Black Forest region of Germany, a landscape known for its dense woodlands, natural springs, and long-standing distilling traditions. The gin is inspired by a recipe attributed to Montgomery Collins, a former British Royal Air Force officer who settled in the area after the Second World War. Drawn to the botanicals native to the region and motivated by a desire to recreate the style of gin he knew from Britain, Collins developed a formula combining classic juniper notes with the floral and herbal richness of the Black Forest. The recipe was later rediscovered and reinterpreted, forming the foundation of Monkey 47 as it is known today.
The production process includes a maceration phase of approximately 36 hours, during which the botanicals infuse a molasses-based spirit. Distillation then takes place in small copper stills designed to preserve the precision and balance of the aromas. After distillation, the gin rests for several months in traditional earthenware containers, a step that allows the flavors to integrate and gain roundness. The name Monkey 47 refers both to the alcohol volume and to the unusually high number of botanicals used in its creation.
On the nose, Monkey 47 presents layered aromas dominated by juniper, followed by bright citrus accents, subtle flowers, and resinous forest notes that evoke its geographical origin. The palate is complex and structured, with a combination of spice, citrus peel, delicate florals, and herbal components that develop progressively. The texture is vibrant yet balanced, and the finish is long, clean, and marked by a mix of fresh citrus, gentle spice, and woodland botanicals. The gin is often enjoyed in classic cocktails, including the gin and tonic or the martini, where its aromatic depth is fully expressed.

c’est un gin super parfumé et plein de caractère, le genre qui te surprend dès la première gorgée!
Excellent gin
Excellent gin, très bien conçu, ciselé. Un must have.
