Beefeater Monday's Gin Description

Beefeater Monday's Gin is a distillery-exclusive release created to showcase how Beefeater’s house recipe behaves when the botanical maceration is extended well beyond the standard schedule. Whereas the classic production for Beefeater London Dry is built around steeping the nine botanicals to extract aromatic oils before distillation, Monday’s Gin is associated with a longer weekend steep, intended to emphasise extraction and deliver a bolder, more expressive distillate. In some releases, the spirit produced on Monday would normally be blended with other days to maintain the familiar, consistent Beefeater profile. Monday’s Gin instead highlights a single-day character, bottled as its own edition.

In the glass, the profile remains firmly in the London dry tradition: juniper is the structural backbone, with coriander adding dry spice and a citrus-leaning lift. Citrus peels contribute brightness and a lightly bitter edge, while angelica root and seed bring a drier, earthy depth that helps bind the aromatic elements together. Orris root contributes a subtle floral nuance and helps harmonise the aroma, while almond and liquorice root add gentle roundness and a faint natural sweetness without turning the gin into a sweetened style.

On the nose, the gin presents a clear juniper core supported by coriander and fresh citrus peel. With the longer steeping regime, the aromatic impression can lean more herbal and perfumed, with notes often described as sage-like and softly violet-toned alongside the classic piney juniper. The palate is dry and direct: juniper and coriander lead, followed by integrated citrus and layered spice. The texture is clean but more assertive than standard-strength Beefeater due to its higher bottling strength. The finish stays dry, with lingering herbal tones and a late peppery lift.

Beefeater Monday’s Gin is well suited to classic serves that preserve clarity while letting the aromatics open up. In a Gin and Tonic, a restrained garnish such as a simple citrus peel can keep the focus on the botanical structure. In a Martini, its dryness and pronounced juniper-coriander spine translate cleanly, while the more expressive herbal and floral nuances can appear as the drink warms slightly in the glass.
