Gins to love!

Zuidam Dutch Courage Aged Dry Gin is a barrel-aged expression from Zuidam Distillers in the Netherlands. It is made according to the same underlying recipe as the brand's Dutch Courage Dry Gin, built on a botanical set that includes juniper, coriander, cardamom, angelica, citrus (notably oranges and lemons), licorice root, orris (iris) root, and vanilla.
Production emphasizes small-batch distillation and the use of fresh citrus. In the Dutch Courage range, Zuidam is known for a technique in which botanicals are distilled in separate runs and later composed, a method intended to preserve clearer, more precise aromatic contributions from each ingredient.
What distinguishes the Aged Dry Gin is a period of maturation in new 200-liter American oak casks. This oak contact layers the spirit with wood-driven aromas and a natural vanilla-and-spice impression on top of the gin's citrus and botanical core.
On the nose, expect a classic juniper frame supported by bright citrus oils, warm spice, and a gentle, creamy sweetness suggestive of vanilla. The palate typically moves from fresh citrus and juniper into cardamom warmth and soft, rounded wood, with a dry finish where oak spice and subtle licorice-like depth can linger.
In service, it can be treated as a sipping gin (neat or with a large cube) to highlight the cask influence, while remaining compatible with classic gin drinks where oak-aged structure is welcome, such as a Gin and Tonic with restrained garnish or cocktails that benefit from added spice and vanilla-wood tones.
