Citadelle Old Tom No Mistake

Citadelle Old Tom No Mistake is a French Old Tom style gin produced by Maison Ferrand, inspired by historical English gins of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It is based on Citadelle Reserve Gin, itself distilled from a complex botanical recipe and partially aged in different wooden casks before further transformation.

After maturation, the gin is gently sweetened using toasted brown sugar that has been previously aged in barrels. This controlled sweetening process gives the spirit its Old Tom character while preserving structure and aromatic precision. The influence of wood remains central, contributing roundness, subtle tannins and warm oxidative notes without masking the original botanical profile.

On the nose, the gin reveals candied citrus, soft spices and light floral accents. The palate is rich and layered, combining citrus peel, gentle sweetness, woody tones and warm spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. Herbal notes from juniper and angelica remain clearly present, ensuring balance and length. The finish is long, slightly sweet, floral and spicy, with a pronounced barrel influence.

Citadelle Old Tom No Mistake can be enjoyed neat or with a single ice cube, and is particularly well suited to classic cocktails such as the Tom Collins or Martinez, where its sweetness and barrel complexity enhance structure and depth.
