Brookie's Byron Dry Gin is an Australian London Dry Gin from Cape Byron Distillery, handcrafted in the hinterland of Byron Bay. It is built with 25 botanicals, including a large selection of native ingredients from the Northern Rivers region: Byron Sunrise finger limes, anise myrtle, cinnamon myrtle, macadamia, native river mint, native raspberry, native ginger, white aspen berries, strawberry gum, riberry and Dorrigo pepperleaf. Juniper and coriander keep the gin anchored, while the native botanicals give it a rainforest signature.
The nose is fresh, green and aromatic, with spearmint-like lift, pine shoot, citrus and warm spice. Finger lime gives a sharp native citrus brightness, while anise myrtle, cinnamon myrtle and native ginger add layered spice. Macadamia gives a soft nutty texture, and the mint and pepperleaf bring a cooling herbal edge. On the palate, Brookie's Byron Dry Gin is lively and complex without losing dryness. Juniper remains visible, but the Australian botanicals create depth, freshness and a sense of place.
In a gin and tonic, a clean Indian tonic and a finger lime garnish are the most direct way to show the gin's character. The garnish should be small and precise, letting the native citrus and rainforest notes come through rather than turning the glass into a fruit serve. The finish is long, green, citrusy and gently spicy, with mint, pepperleaf and juniper lingering together. It is an important modern Australian gin because it balances classic London Dry structure with a clearly local botanical identity.
