Inverroche Verdant Gin is the lighter, floral and mountain-fynbos side of the Inverroche range. Produced in South Africa, it shows the distillery's interest in the Cape Floral Kingdom through a more delicate and lifted profile than Amber. Verdant is not designed as a heavy botanical gin; it is a translucent, aromatic style built around flowers, herbs, citrus peel and a clean juniper frame. It works especially well when the serve protects its freshness instead of pushing it toward sweetness.
The botanicals include juniper, fynbos botanicals, elderflower, chamomile and lemon verbena. Elderflower and chamomile give the gin a soft floral opening, while lemon verbena brings a bright, lemony green note. The fynbos layer adds a specifically South African herbal complexity, and juniper keeps the structure dry. At 43% ABV, it has enough firmness for tonic, but its best quality is nuance, so it benefits from clean ice, a careful tonic ratio and a restrained garnish.
On the nose, Inverroche Verdant Gin is airy and floral, with elderflower, chamomile, lemon verbena and a subtle green-herbal edge. The juniper is present but not aggressive. On the palate, it opens with citrus rind and summer flowers, then moves into a soft herbal middle. There is a small touch of spice and a dry, slightly liquorice-like finish that prevents the gin from feeling thin. The overall impression is elegant, fresh and quietly aromatic.
For the perfect serve, Barker and Quin Finest Indian Tonic Water gives a clean frame without smothering the floral notes. Serve in a chilled copa with plenty of clear ice, 5 cl of gin and 15 cl of tonic. A lemon zest twist is enough to sharpen the citrus; a few pomegranate seeds can add a small visual and fruity accent, but they should remain secondary. This is a gin that performs best when the glass looks bright, simple and precise.
