Procera Green Dot Gin Description

Procera Green Dot Gin is one of the most focused gins in the Procera family, built around Juniperus procera as a complete tree rather than around juniper berries alone. It comes from Kenya and follows Procera's distinctive idea of using African juniper with a strong sense of place, craftsmanship and presentation. Green Dot is not a citrus-led easy gin; it is a precise, woody and herbal profile that explores berries, foliage and toasted juniper wood as connected parts of the same botanical identity.

The ingredient list is deliberately short: Juniperus procera, juniper foliage and toasted juniper wood. That restraint is the point. Instead of creating complexity by adding many botanicals, the gin looks for nuance inside one botanical world. The foliage gives green, pine-like and resinous lift; the wood brings warmth, toast and a quiet vanilla suggestion; the berry structure keeps the spirit dry and recognisably gin. At 47% ABV, it has enough intensity to stand up to tonic, but it also asks for a careful serve because too much sweetness would cover its detail.

On the nose, Procera Green Dot Gin opens with forest floor, pine needles, fresh herbs and dry wood. There can be a soft creamy impression, with hints of coconut, vanilla and warm resin, but the profile stays clean rather than dessert-like. On the palate, the texture is rounded and almost buttery at first, then the green juniper notes tighten the drink. The finish is long, dry and spicy, with toasted wood, herbal bitterness and a persistent juniper echo that feels more architectural than floral.

For a gin and tonic, the safest route is a clean, high-quality tonic with controlled sweetness. East Imperial Burma Tonic works because its quinine structure gives grip without drowning the gin. Serve in a chilled copa with plenty of ice, then garnish very simply with a small rosemary sprig and, if available, a single lightly toasted juniper berry. The goal is not to decorate the glass heavily, but to extend the woody and herbal line already present in the gin.
