Dingle Gin Orange & Sea Salt is a modern flavoured expression from Dingle Distillery in County Kerry, inspired by the Atlantic coastline around the Dingle Peninsula. It builds on the distillery's established gin recipe and adds two clear elements: hand-selected Spanish oranges and sea salt created in collaboration with West of Dingle Sea Salt. The expression is bottled at 40% ABV, with a bright orange character, a subtle saline lift and the floral-hedgerow structure that belongs to Dingle's original botanical identity.
The base recipe is connected to local Irish botanicals such as rowan berry, fuchsia, bog myrtle, hawthorn and heather, which give Dingle Gin its wild, coastal and lightly floral personality. For this release, the Spanish oranges are washed, cut, deseeded, macerated and distilled separately in a small copper still before being blended into the gin. The sea salt is hand-harvested from the Atlantic Ocean in collaboration with a local family business, then added to bring minerality, balance and a smoother coastal edge rather than overt saltiness.
On the nose, Dingle Gin Orange & Sea Salt opens with fresh natural orange, immediately supported by juniper and delicate floral notes. The citrus feels bright and zesty rather than candied, while the native botanicals keep the aroma linked to the Irish landscape. On the palate, orange leads with vibrant peel and juicy fruit impressions, then the floral and herbal base gives the gin more shape. The saline element is subtle but important: it tightens the finish, makes the citrus feel fresher and adds a clean mineral echo.
The finish is crisp, refreshing and lightly coastal, with lingering orange freshness and a gentle savoury trace. It is well suited to a gin and tonic with a premium Mediterranean or classic tonic, plenty of ice, a dehydrated orange wheel and a small rosemary sprig if a herbal accent is desired. The distillery also suggests an Orange Spritz style serve with orange juice, soda and prosecco, which underlines the fruitier side of the expression. It is a citrus-led Irish flavoured gin with enough local botanical depth to avoid becoming a simple orange gin.
