Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru Murcian Lemon is a small-batch London Dry Gin built as a tribute to the citrus harvest of Murcia in south-eastern Spain. The expression keeps the recognizable Bombay Sapphire architecture but gives the leading role to sustainably sourced Murcian Fino lemons, mandarins and sweet Navel oranges. These fruits are selected from a region known for intensely aromatic citrus, then hand-picked, hand-peeled and dried naturally under the Mediterranean sun so that the essential oils remain vivid and clean.
The gin is still rooted in the classic Bombay Sapphire botanical frame: juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, orris root, cassia bark, liquorice, bitter almonds, cubeb berries and grains of paradise provide the dry, spicy and structural base. Premier Cru Murcian Lemon adds a more focused citrus layer through Fino lemon, mandarin and sweet orange, not as a sweet flavouring but as a refinement of the London Dry profile. The name Premier Cru points to the care given to the harvest and to the distiller's precise cut of each small batch, intended to preserve the same bright liquid character from year to year.
On the nose, the gin is immediately citrus-forward, with lemon peel and fragrant orange oil rising above the familiar juniper and spice. Mandarin gives a softer, rounder aromatic bridge, while coriander, grains of paradise and cassia keep the profile dry and lightly peppered. The palate is smooth, fresh and aromatic. Fino lemon brings the main line of brightness, sweet orange adds a warmer fruit tone, and mandarin softens the middle without making the gin sugary. Juniper, angelica and orris keep the texture firm and dry, while the spice botanicals add a fine, warming structure.
At 47% ABV, Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru Murcian Lemon has enough presence for a simple gin and tonic, a French 75, a Martini variation or a citrus-led Collins. A lemon twist is the cleanest garnish, but a small mandarin peel or orange zest can underline the softer side of the recipe. The gin is especially convincing when mixed in drinks that need aromatic citrus without losing the dryness and clarity expected from a London Dry Gin.
