Gins to love!

2934 Gin Aged Barrel Édition Limitée is the barrel-aged expression of 2934 Gin, a French gin born from the meeting of two regions referenced in its name: Finistère (29) and Hérault (34). The base gin is crafted in a London Dry style and then briefly matured in oak to add structure and roundness, while preserving its original botanical signature, particularly the floral and green character of tomato leaves.
This edition is aged for two months in an oak barrel. The cask, seven years old with a medium toast, previously held Bordeaux wine for five years and was then used for cherry liqueur for two additional years. This maturation gives the gin a deeper color, enhanced liveliness from the oak, and a rounder finish shaped by the cherry-liqueur influence, without obscuring the fresh floral note of tomato leaves.
The botanical framework remains true to the identity of 2934. Juniper, coriander, and cardamom form the core. Angelica root and roasted buckwheat bring structure and toasted depth. Orange zest and mint provide freshness and aromatic lift, almond adds a soft nutty nuance, and tomato leaves deliver the distinctive vegetal and floral signature.
On the nose, citrus zest and fresh herbs are layered with a light woody touch. The palate is dry and precise, supported by gentle spice and the cereal depth of roasted buckwheat. Oak adds tension without dominance, while the finish becomes rounder, showing a subtle fruit impression consistent with the cherry-liqueur influence, alongside the lingering floral-green echo of tomato leaf.
In tasting, this gin works well enjoyed neat as a digestif or in a structured gin and tonic, particularly with an Indian-style tonic.
Producer’s cocktail recipe: 4 cl gin, 4 cl cherry juice, and 20 cl tonic.
