Gins to love!

GŴYR Rhosili is a London Dry Gin produced by The Gower Gin Company in South Wales. Its name references the Rhosili coastline, an area associated with maritime landscapes, dune ecosystems and traditional Welsh foraging culture. The distillers integrate regionally sourced botanicals, particularly gorse flowers and sea buckthorn, together with linden flowers, lime zest, juniper, angelica and coriander. The presence of coastal plants reflects the terroir of the peninsula and highlights the influence of the Atlantic environment on the aromatic construction of the gin.
The nose opens with citrus brightness led by fresh lime zest, followed by floral notes from linden and soft coastal accents of gorse. Subtle herbal tones add definition without masking juniper. The palate is structured around a precise London Dry style, where juniper remains central but is complemented by a resinous, slightly saline depth from sea buckthorn. Floral elements soften the profile while gorse introduces a dry, lightly coconut-like facet typical of this plant. The alcohol level at 45% provides weight and texture while maintaining control and clarity.
The finish is dry, clean and persistent, with lime and juniper returning first, followed by a slower evolution of floral and maritime notes. The production process involves small-batch distillation with controlled extraction of each botanical to maintain aromatic separation rather than fusion. The gin can be served neat to explore the floral-coastal interplay, or in a classic gin and tonic with a lime garnish. It also adapts well to cocktails requiring citrus-forward definition without excessive sweetness, including Gimlet and Martini variations.
