Gins to love!

BH1 Gin is the original small-batch gin from Bournemouth, produced by Bournemouth Distillers in Dorset. Created by bartenders Lewis and Przemek after years of bar experience, it was designed to stand out in a crowded British gin scene by focusing on a coastal identity and precise flavour balance. The recipe brings together 13 botanicals, with wild chamomile hand-foraged from the Bournemouth and Dorset coastline as its distinctive signature note. BH1 Gin has attracted recognition on the competition circuit, including a Bronze medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition and a place in the Best Drinks Product in Dorset line up.
On the nose, the gin opens with fresh juniper and bright citrus, combining notes reminiscent of orange and pink grapefruit with a gentle herbal lift from chamomile. Cardamom and coriander seed add a soft, floral-spicy dimension, while underlying hints of almond suggest a discreet sweetness. The palate is juniper-led but not aggressive, with enjoyably sharp citrus carrying through alongside warm spice from botanicals such as clove, cinnamon and star anise. Wild chamomile and nigella seed contribute a savoury, aromatic character that keeps the profile from tipping into overt sweetness.
The texture is clean and smooth at 40% ABV, with a balance of savoury depth and subtle sweetness that lingers into the finish. Almond and anise notes tend to persist on the aftertaste, supported by juniper spice and a gentle echo of coastal chamomile. BH1 Gin is typically distilled in small batches using fractional distillation, in which botanicals are treated as separate distillates before being blended to the final recipe. It is commonly served simply with quality tonic, a twist of orange and a sprig of thyme, and also works in classic gin cocktails where a combination of citrus brightness, floral nuances and warming spice is desired.
