Gin d'Avril

Gin d'Avril is a New Western Dry Gin created by Distillerie du Petit Grain. Its composition highlights a selection of botanicals traditionally associated with herbal and floral profiles, including sage, thyme, rosemary, fennel and wild lavender. These are complemented by galangal, pistachio shoots and pine cones, which contribute additional aromatic complexity. Juniper remains present but intentionally less dominant, in keeping with the stylistic approach of New Western Dry gins.

The distillation relies on methods aimed at preserving the delicate aromas of the botanicals. Herbs such as rosemary and thyme bring structure and a clear aromatic identity, while wild lavender introduces floral lift. Galangal adds a subtle spiced character, and pine cones bring resinous nuances. The inclusion of pistachio shoots adds a green and lightly nutty note.

On the nose, the gin reveals fresh herbal tones with floral highlights. The palate is marked by a balanced progression of herbs, gentle spice and soft floral notes. The texture is clean and moderately dry, with galangal and pine creating depth. The finish is persistent, with a return of herbal and resinous nuances.

Gin d'Avril can be enjoyed neat or used in cocktails that benefit from a botanical-driven profile. It works well in a gin and tonic with a neutral tonic water, allowing the interplay of herbs and florals to remain at the forefront.
