Gins to love!

2934 Gin is a French distilled gin created as a collaboration between two French regions referenced in its name: Finistere (29) in Brittany and Herault (34) in Occitania. It is distilled in Brittany at Distillerie Heroult in Quimperle. The recipe is designed around a classic gin backbone, then extended with region-specific botanicals, including an intentionally unusual choice for gin: tomato leaves.
The botanical bill is structured in three layers. A shared core provides the familiar gin framework with juniper berries, coriander and cardamom. The Brittany side brings roasted buckwheat and angelica root, contributing a grain-driven, lightly toasted depth and a more earthy backbone. The Herault side adds orange zest, mint, a light touch of almond and tomato leaves, which introduce a green, vegetal nuance alongside citrus lift and fresh herbal tones.
Production is presented in the London Dry style, relying on distillation to capture botanical character without relying on added flavorings. At 40% ABV, the profile aims for definition rather than sweetness. On the nose, juniper and fresh herbs lead, supported by citrus zest and a distinct green note associated with tomato leaf. The palate remains dry and structured: coriander and cardamom provide lift and gentle spice; roasted buckwheat adds a toasted, grainy depth; mint and orange zest bring freshness; angelica helps bind the aromatics into a coherent, slightly earthy finish.
In service, 2934 Gin works in a gin and tonic where a neutral or dry tonic allows the tomato-leaf and buckwheat facets to remain legible. It can also be used in classic cocktails that highlight structure and botanicals, such as a dry martini style serve or a stirred gin cocktail, where its herbal-citrus lift and vegetal undertone can add a distinctive edge.
The producer also indicates the presence of almond in a small quantity (0.8 g per liter), which may be relevant for consumers with sensitivities.
