Poire Poivree Gin

Poire Poivree Gin is a limited-edition release from Audemus Spirits, created in collaboration with the historic Distillerie Mette in Alsace. This gin is built around a base of authentic Poire Williams Eau de Vie, a traditional Alsatian spirit obtained through the distillation of ripe Williams pears. Its use provides an aromatic profile rooted in regional expertise, where the fruit's natural intensity is preserved through careful selection and controlled distillation.

In addition to its pear foundation, the gin incorporates Italian juniper, Indonesian cubeb, Sardinian myrtle, and French citron. Each botanical is chosen for its specific aromatic contribution. The juniper brings a classic resinous structure, the cubeb introduces a pepper-driven complexity, the myrtle adds a subtle herbal depth, and the citron provides fresh citrus brightness. Together, they create a balanced composition where fruit and spice coexist without overshadowing the identity of the eau de vie.

The gin opens on the nose with expressive pear aromas supported by gentle citrus notes. On the palate, the texture is round, with the Williams pear delivering both sweetness and a natural softness. The cubeb asserts itself progressively, offering a peppery dimension that leads into a long and structured finish. The botanical mix creates a layered experience in which fruity, spicy, and herbaceous elements remain clearly identifiable.

With only 1,100 bottles produced, this expression was designed for enthusiasts seeking a spirit that bridges traditional fruit distillation and contemporary gin craftsmanship.
