Bombay Bramble Description

Bombay Bramble brings Bombay Sapphire into a berry-led style without losing the clear juniper thread that defines the house. Released in 2020, it takes its cue from the Bramble cocktail, a modern classic built around gin, citrus and dark berries. The gin is bottled at 37.5% ABV and uses natural blackberry and raspberry flavours, with no added sugar.

Blackberry gives the nose its darker, ripe-fruit register, while raspberry brings a brighter red-fruit lift. Juniper remains present beneath the fruit, keeping the profile recognisably gin rather than turning it into a liqueur. The result moves from tangy berry notes towards a gently dry, citrus-tinged finish.

On the palate, the fruit is rounded but not syrupy. Raspberry arrives first, followed by blackberry depth and a clean juniper backbone. Served cold, the balance is especially clear: the freshness of the berries stays lively, while the botanical base keeps the finish neat and refreshing.

A long tonic serve is a natural home for Bombay Bramble. Plenty of firm ice, a restrained pour of Indian tonic and a fresh blackberry with a lemon wedge keep the glass bright and aromatic. It also suits the original Bramble cocktail, where lemon and creme de mure echo the gin's own berry character.

Its colour and berry profile make the serve immediately appealing, yet the best version remains restrained. Keep the tonic ratio modest, use fresh fruit rather than syrup, and let cold dilution reveal the tart side of raspberry and the darker depth of blackberry. That discipline gives Bombay Bramble the poise of a gin long drink rather than a dessert glass.
