Kokoro Gin is a London Dry Gin that harmoniously blends British distillation techniques with a distinctive Japanese essence. Its signature ingredient, the sansho berry, is handpicked from the Afan Woodland in Japan's Nagano Prefecture. These berries impart a unique flavor to the gin, combining a citrusy zing with a warm, peppery finish. ​

On the nose, Kokoro Gin reveals classic aromas dominated by orange, angelica root, juniper, and coriander, with a citrus-forward profile. On the palate, it offers an initial burst of jammy citrus, followed by sweet lemon notes and spices such as coriander, black pepper, and angelica root. The finish is marked by a slight pepperiness, unctuous licorice sweetness, and moderate warmth, typical of citrus-forward gins. ​

Beyond its gustatory quality, Kokoro Gin is committed to environmental preservation by donating a portion of its profits to the C.W. Nicol Afan Woodland Trust, an organization dedicated to conserving Japan's ancient woodlands.

Instructions

Fill a chilled highball glass with ice cubes.

Pour 50ml of Kokoro Gin over the ice.

Add 15ml of yuzu juice and 10ml of lemongrass syrup.

Stir gently and top with 100ml of Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water.

Garnish with a slice of yuzu and a sprig of lemongrass.
