The palate follows the herbs and blackcurrant towards a floral finish, with lavender lending a fragrant note and rosemary a distinctly herbal accent. Lemon verbena gives the citrus a fresh, lemony lift, blackcurrant leaves add a green, slightly fruity tone, and juniper keeps the gin dry despite the floral notes.

Launched in 2023 as Searcys' first own-label gin, it was created with Hawkridge Distillers using botanicals sourced in the Royal Berkshire countryside. Traditional distillation is combined with vapour infusionVapour infusionBotanicals sit in a basket above the liquid, so only the alcohol vapour passes through them, for a lighter, fresher extraction.Glossary, and the process includes a botanical tea inspired by the Victorian era, an idea that draws on Searcys' own Victorian heritage.

The 70 cl blue bottle is finished with a hand-carved wooden cork. For the launch, a limited set of 200 wooden presentation cases was also made. The gin is bottled at 40% ABV.

The word also names the glass.Glossary glass with ice and add a cucumber slice. Pour over 5 cl gin, then top with 10 cl Franklin & Sons Original Mallorcan Tonic Water. The cucumber adds a cool, crisp note that suits the rosemary and blackcurrant leaves, and the tonic lengthens the drink while extending the lemon verbena. Two parts tonic to one of gin keep the drink light and leave room for the floral finish. Adding the cucumber before the gin lets it scent the drink from the first sip, and a glass full of ice keeps the bubbles fine.
