Distilled Gin · 53 % ABV · GB
Eight botanicals give Snow Leopard Gin its range, from coriander seed grown in the Himalayan foothills to makrut lime, lychee and Nam Doc Mai mango sourced in Asia. Juniper, ginger, turmeric and coriander leaf complete the recipe. For this Dorset gin, each botanical is distilled individually in copper stills.
Citrus · Spicy · Fruity · Herbal
At 53% ABV, the nose sets warming spice and sweet ripe fruit over juniper, with citrus keeping it in balance.
The palate brings fresh lychee and rich mango alongside soft spice, the grassy note of coriander leaf and the brightness of lime, while ginger and turmeric give the spice an earthy warmth. The finish is long and silky, and the high strength carries the tropical fruit a long way.
Only 200 bottles of 70 cl make up this single edition. The mouth-blown, hand-polished crystalline bottle draws on Mount Everest, and founder Will Phillips designed the snow leopard sculpture that crowns it, inspired by the artist Stephen Rew. A portion of every bottle sold goes to the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.
Snow Leopard on Ice keeps things simple: place one large ice cubeLarge iceOne large block melts far more slowly than several small cubes, so the drink stays cold without watering down.Glossary in a rocks glassRocks glassA short, heavy glass (tumbler) for a spirit over a large ice cube or a short cocktail.Glossary and pour 4 cl gin over it, with a lime peel served on a small plate beside the glass rather than in the drink. Nothing in the glass masks the lychee, mango and spice. The producer also recommends it with a premium tonic.
