Citrus · Spicy · Fruity · Vanilla
The palate is dry, aromatic and distinctly spicy. Cassia brings a warm, sweet spice note, while bitter orange adds zest and a suggestion of marmalade. The long finish recalls cardamom, bitter orange and lingonberry, allowing the berry note from the aroma to return alongside the spices.
Coriander adds a lighter, citrus-tinged spice to the cassia and cardamom, and vanilla softens the dry palate without making it sweet. Angelica root keeps an earthy, herbal base under the berry and the spice.
Junimperium's distillery opened in Tallinn's Telliskivi district in early 2019 after more than a year of trials. Winter Edition received silver in the flavoured gin category at the 2020 World Gin Awards and a silver taste award at the 2020 International Spirits Challenge. The producer lists it in 700 ml and 200 ml formats.
