Junimperium Blended London DryLondon DryA style, not a place of origin: every flavour comes from distilling natural botanicals. After distillation only water and a trace of sugar may be added, with no flavouring or colouring.GlossarySee London Dry gins combines three selected junipers with local juniper berries. The ingredients are distilled separately and then blended, giving a 45% ABV gin from Estonia. Coriander seed, angelica root, cubeb pepper and thyme are among the named botanicals.

Citrus · Dry · Spicy · Herbal

Juniper gives the gin its pronounced character, accompanied by light citrus and spice.

The palate is clean and dry, with a cedary impression and a touch of pepper. Thyme adds a sharp herbal note, while cubebCubebIndonesian tailed pepper: hot and resinous, with a hint of pine and citrus that extends the juniper.Glossary leaves a peppery trace that lasts. The finish remains dry, with a little citrus and sweetness appearing alongside those lingering spices.

Two further local botanicals complete the recipe, and the distillery keeps their identity secret. Among the disclosed plants, coriander seed brings a warm spice with a citrus edge, and angelica rootAngelicaThe root of a tall umbellifer, earthy and musky. After juniper and coriander it is the most common botanical: it binds the aromas and holds the finish.Glossary gives the blend an earthy, dry base. With thyme and cubeb, these roots and seeds keep the gin on the herbal, peppery side of juniper.

The gin comes from Junimperium Distillery in Tallinn's Telliskivi district. The distillery opened in early 2019 after more than a year of experimentation. Blended London Dry was named Best Estonian London Dry at the 2021 World Gin Awards. Junimperium offers it in a 700 ml bottle and also lists a 200 ml format.

For Junimperium's signature gin and tonic, fill a large glass with ice and pour in 5 cl of gin. Add a thin lemon wedge, a few fresh thyme sprigs and 6 to 7 juniper berriesJuniperThe one compulsory botanical: gin must taste predominantly of juniper. Its "berry" is really a small conifer cone, resinous and peppery.Glossary, then pour in 16 cl Fever-Tree Indian Tonic WaterIndian tonicThe classic tonic: sparkling water, bitter quinine and sugar.
