Juno Spring 2026 Seasonal Gin

Hemp takes the lead in Juno's Spring 2026 seasonal gin, with surprisingly delicate rosemary flowers, chamomile and cardamom completing the picture. Made in New Plymouth and bottled at 44% ABV, it is, in Juno's words, savoury, floral and refreshing. The label takes its scene from a hidden hill in Pukekura Park, which reveals a secret: the roof of the Band Rotunda is flamboyant. Pukekura Park, in the heart of New Plymouth, is one of the city's best-loved gardens.

Hemp gives the gin an earthy, green and slightly nutty base, unusual in a spring gin and more savoury than fruity. Rosemary flowers bring a softer, more floral version of the herb's resinousResinousAn aroma reminiscent of pine or fir resin. It is juniper's signature, due to compounds such as pinene.Glossary scent, and chamomile adds a gentle, honeyed note. Cardamom lifts the finish with a light, aromatic spice. The progression is clear: green and herbal at first, then floral, then a bright, spiced close. Like every Juno gin, it is made with New Zealand mountain water and hand-selected botanicals in a copper still, and the seasonal series lets the distillery try short, focused recipes. Hemp, a cousin of hops, gives an aroma close to fresh-cut grass. The finish is gently floral.

The gin captures, in Juno's words, the surprise and joy of a fresh spring morning. Its herbal side suits a Southside with mint and lime, or a Bee's Knees, where honey meets the chamomile. Neat over ice, the hemp and chamomile are easiest to find. Its savoury side also suits a light MartiniDry MartiniGin and a little dry vermouth, stirred over ice and served in a well-chilled stemmed glass, with an olive or a twist.Glossary.

For the G&T, pour 45 ml of Spring 2026 over firm ice and add 100 ml of Franklin & Sons Elderflower Tonic Water. Place a rosemary sprig and a few chamomile flowers in the glass, and serve the same garnishes beside it. Elderflower brings out the floral notes, and the rosemary echoes its blossoms.
