Raincoast Gin takes inspiration from the rainfall that sustains Vancouver Island's temperate rainforest. Bottled at 43% ABV, it pairs juniper and citrus with nettle and oakmoss. The result is bright and balanced, with a fresh citrus entry and a subtle green, earthy finish.

JuniperJuniperThe one compulsory botanical: gin must taste predominantly of juniper. Its "berry" is really a small conifer cone, resinous and peppery.Glossary provides the familiar dry centre, while citrus brings a clean brightness to the nose and palate. Nettle contributes a green, herbal note; oakmoss leaves a grassy, earthy finish that recalls damp forest floor. The contrast between lively citrus and quieter woodland flavours keeps the gin balanced. Its aromas remain subtle rather than heavy, and the finish is fresh enough for a highballHighballA long drink served in a tall, straight glass with plenty of ice: a spirit topped with soda or tonic. Sheringham Distillery is based in Langford, British Columbia, and Raincoast received a silver medal in the Contemporary Style category at the 2024 World Gin Awards. The gin is also featured in the distillery's own cocktail recipes, including a martini and a highball. This versatility follows from the recipe: citrus gives it lift, while nettle and oakmoss supply an herbal depth that continues to show through when the gin is mixed. The rainfall and rainforest inspiration is carried by those named botanicals and the flavour they produce. Nettle and oakmoss leave the most distinctive trace after the citrus fades, keeping the finish green and lightly earthy rather than sweet.

Stir gently once. Lemon brings a fresh aromatic lift, while the berries add a restrained fruit accent without changing the gin's dry direction.
