Golden limes from Awaji Island distinguish YASO GIN Limited Edition 05, the fifth limited gin in the producer's 2021 series.

The lime gives the gin a rounder, more aromatic citrus direction than the sharper impression associated with unripe green fruit. Its fragrance sits alongside the wildflower character of the original gin, while juniper provides the familiar botanical reference point. The producer presents this as a meeting of two aromatic elements: the base gin's fresh wildflower notes and the particular fragrance of the golden Awaji lime.

Awaji Island is the origin of the ripe lime and a central part of the release's distinction. The fruit is described as rare and golden when fully mature, with an aroma different from ordinary green lime. Limited Edition 05 was sold alongside a separate YASO botanical syrup made with the same ripe lime, but that syrup is a different product. The gin itself was part of a numbered series of limited releases in 2021.
