Flavored Gin · 40 % ABV · AU
Botanik Tiki Gin pairs spiced pineapple with a contemporary Australian botanical recipe. The distillery uses Queensland cane spirit, and bottles it at 40% ABV. The recipe lists fifteen botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, grapefruit, lime, orange, lemon, pineapple skin, cloves, ginger, allspice, cassia, green cardamom pods, rosehips, almonds, jasmine and white peony tea. Botanik recommends Mediterranean-style tonic and also names the Tiki Saturn as a cocktail use.

The citrus and pineapple create the first impression, with pineapple giving the recipe its tropical direction and grapefruit, lime, orange and lemon adding several shades of freshness. Juniper and coriander remain present beneath the fruit. Clove, ginger, allspiceAllspiceA dried berry that recalls clove, cinnamon and nutmeg all at once, hence its name.Glossary, cassia and cardamom contribute warmth, while rosehips, almond, jasmine and white peony tea broaden the botanical range with floral and softly nutty details. The flavour is therefore fruit-forward, but the spices keep it from reading as a simple sweet fruit gin.
Fifteen botanicals give Tiki one of the most layered recipes in the Botanik range. Its contemporary classification reflects the prominence of flavours beyond juniper. The producer describes the gin as fruity, spicy, citrusy, herbal and floral. Those elements point to several ways of using it: the citrus can be kept bright in a long drink, or the spice and tropical notes can be carried into a cocktail such as the Tiki Saturn.

The tonic's citrus-herbal character supports the fruit while leaving the spice visible. Keep the garnish restrained, stir once, and avoid adding several competing fruits to a recipe that already contains a broad botanical palette.
Botanik Tiki Gin is best approached as a fruit-led gin with genuine spice beneath it. A neat sip makes the cloves, ginger and allspice easier to notice; with tonic, pineapple and citrus become more immediate. It can be used in the Tiki Saturn as the producer suggests, or in a simple gin and tonic that lets the recipe speak for itself.
