Jardim do Paraíso Japão is Gin Sul's 2026 limited edition, inspired by Japan and distilled in Hamburg. At 45% ABV, it comes in a 500 ml bottle. Gin Sul describes it as a blend of five aromatic distillates. Yuzu and calamansi form its citrus centre, shiso leaves add a subtle savoury spice, sakura blossoms bring a floral note, and juniper and orris root complete the botanical picture.

Yuzu gives the nose a bright, fragrant citrus lift, with calamansi adding a sharper, more tart edge. Shiso introduces a green, gently spiced note rather than sweetness; sakura brings a softer floral impression. Juniper remains present beneath the citrus, while orris root supports the dry finish. The combination moves from lively citrus to green herb and flower, then returns to a clean gin-like close. Its 45% strength gives the aromatic blend enough presence for a short serve or a carefully diluted long drink.
The name Jardim do Paraíso means "garden of paradise," and Japão is the third destination in Gin Sul's island-inspired series, following Madeira and Zanzibar. The producer emphasizes that the inspiration is Japanese while the spirit itself is distilled in Hamburg. This distinction is reflected in the recipe: Japanese citrus and shiso meet the distillery's own blending of separate botanical distillates. The limited release is sold while stocks last.
For a tonic serve, use a dry Indian tonic over clear ice, with a thin strip of yuzu peel and one shiso leaf placed in the glass. The tonic should be measured so it does not bury the fragrant citrus. Yuzu echoes the gin's leading note, while shiso reinforces its green side without introducing extra sweetness. The distillery also suggests enjoying the gin over ice or in a Yuzu Sour; for the long drink, keep the garnish simple and let the five-part blend remain the focus.
