Gin Lueur Vive 2026 takes its colour and aromatic direction from blackcurrant and rose geranium. Distillerie Belladone bottles this French limited edition at 45% ABV. The result is a fruit-led gin with a floral accent, presented in a deep purple hue.
Limited Edition · Floral · Fruity
Blackcurrant comes first, bringing a ripe berry character with enough freshness to keep the aroma lively. Rose geranium adds a perfumed note that recalls rose, while the distillery describes a light lychee accent alongside it. These elements give the gin a clear floral-fruit profile rather than a simple berry sweetness. Juniper keeps the familiar gin character in view, and the 45% strength gives the aromatic notes a firm, concentrated shape.
The palate follows the same path: blackcurrant opens with soft fruit, then rose and lychee lift the middle with a more delicate floral tone. The fruit remains fresh instead of becoming syrupy, and the finish leaves a clean, lightly botanical impression. Its purple colour makes the gin striking in a cocktail glass, but the recipe benefits from a restrained mixer that lets the fruit and flowers remain distinct.
For a long G&T, fill a balloon glass with clear ice, pour 4.5 cl and add 10 cl of Fever-Tree Citrus Tonic Water. Garnish with a small cluster of blackcurrants and one edible rose petal in the drink. The citrus tonic gives the cassis a crisp edge, while the rose petal echoes the geranium's floral note. Avoid extra syrup, which would weigh down the fresh fruit character. The colour and aroma reinforce one another, giving the gin a recognisable character before the first sip. In a simple mixed drink, blackcurrant stays vivid while rose geranium adds a finer, fragrant edge.
