Gin and tonic, Negroni, Martini, Gin Fizz, Gimlet, Collins or simply neat: Zona B lists all of them for Terpeni Classico, a long list that says a lot about the balance this London Dry aims for. It comes from Zona B Distilleria Artigianale in Lavagno, just east of Verona, and is bottled at 42% ABV in 70 cl. In 2026 it was named Best in Europe and Best in Italy at The Gin Guide Awards, with a gold medal, after a gold at the London Spirits Competition in 2025.

The back label lists the botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica, cardamom, chamomile, liquorice and citrus. The base is a pure organic alcohol made from soft wheat, and the gin is distilled in a copper alembic using the Carter Head method, in which the most delicate botanicals sit in a basket and are reached only by the alcohol vapour. The label describes a fully artisanal process, the result of years of trials, and carries the signature of Ale Zaghi.
The official tasting notes keep it simple. On the nose, juniper, citrus and balsamic notes; on the palate, a balanced, soft gin with a persistent finish. Chamomile and liquorice give that softness, while coriander and cardamom add a light spice and angelica keeps the base dry. In the glass the gin is crystal clear, with brilliant reflections.
Classico is the reference point of the Terpeni line, alongside Fiori and Radici, which take the same approach towards flowers and roots. For a gin and tonic, use large ice, a measured amount of chilled Indian tonic, a lemon twist and a very small sprig of rosemary. A short pour neat first helps decide how much tonic leaves the juniper in front. The same balance makes it a reliable choice for a Negroni or a Martini, two of the classics the distillery names.
