Gin San Roccu Anima Description

San Roccu Anima carries the herbs and citrus of Corsica at a striking 65% ABV. Bloom Soul makes it with juniper, nepita, clementine and myrtle. Nepita is a fragrant Mediterranean herb, and myrtle is closely tied to the island's maquis. Those plants give the recipe a local character that does not depend on a scenic label. The high bottling strength is equally important: Anima is made to carry its aromas through dilution, not to be treated like a standard 40% gin. Its force is a practical feature when mixing, not just a number on the bottle.

The clementine gives a fresh citrus opening, followed by a greener herbal register from nepita and myrtle. Juniper provides the familiar dry base. Because the gin is strong, a tiny neat taste is enough to understand its concentrated aroma; a little water may reveal a different balance. It would be misleading to promise a fixed sequence of tasting notes from the ingredient list alone. What is certain is the deliberate meeting of Corsican herbs, citrus and a markedly higher proof.

For a longer drink, begin with a smaller gin measure than usual. Pour 3 cl over generous ice and add 12 cl of chilled Indian tonic. Put a clementine twist and a small myrtle sprig inside the glass, with more of both beside it. The garnish follows the gin's own plants without introducing another flavour. Stir once and taste before changing the ratio. At this strength, careful dilution matters: it lets the herbs and fruit remain clear without allowing the alcohol to dominate.
