Best enjoyed with Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water, garnished with Raspberries and Red apple slices.
See the perfect servePerthshire raspberries give Caorunn Scottish Raspberry Gin its fruit, but the tartness of rowan keeps it from turning into a sweet drink. Made in Scotland and bottled at 41.8% ABV in 70cl, it has collected a long list of awards, among them Gold and the flavoured category win at the 2026 World Gin Awards, Gold again in 2025, an International Wine and Spirits Gold in 2024, and the title of best Scottish flavoured gin in 2022.
The aroma starts with a burst of raspberry over a softer vanilla note. On the palate the fruit stays bright rather than jammy, and rowan berry, the Gaelic name behind the brand, brings the sharp edge that balances it. The finish is clean and lingering, with the dry, crisp character of the classic Caorunn still doing its work underneath, so the gin reads as fruity without ever feeling thick.
That balance owes a lot to the Copper Berry Chamber, the trays of botanicals through which the distillery passes its alcohol vapour. Eleven gin botanicals are extracted that way before the raspberry character joins them, which is why the bottle tastes like a gin with fruit rather than fruit syrup poured into neutral alcohol. Where the classic bottling leans slightly spicy, this one leans decidedly fruity, and the makers describe it, with a smile, as their alternative to a fruit salad.
The brand's own ratio is one part gin to two parts chilled tonic, garnished with raspberries and slices of red apple. Follow it over plenty of ice: 4cl of gin, 8cl of tonic, two or three berries and two thin apple slices dropped in whole. Apple gives the raspberry a crisp orchard edge; leave both fruits unbruised so the aroma arrives slowly instead of all at once, and taste before adding more mixer.
