Best enjoyed with Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water, garnished with Orange peel and Green cardamom pods.
See the perfect serveA journey home to Amsterdam by way of Brighton inspired this edition. According to the brand story, Andreas van Loy discovered a gin with a clean, dry taste during that trip and brought bottles back, and Brighton now marries that English gin tradition with continental elegance. It is the classic London Dry of 100&NOMORE, the Barcelona label that makes each gin in editions of up to a hundred numbered bottles.
The recipe stays close to tradition. Juniper leads, joined by coriander seeds, green cardamom, angelica root, orange peel and licorice. The brand describes a fresh, elegant gin with citrus freshness, soft spice and a smooth, refined finish: cardamom and coriander provide balance, angelica adds depth and licorice brings a harmonious close. Brighton is distilled at La Destilateca in Barcelona and sold in 50 cl bottles at 40% ABV.
Each botanical has a classic role. Coriander seed brings a light, peppery citrus note that echoes the orange peel; green cardamom adds a cool, aromatic lift; angelica root, one of the oldest gin botanicals, anchors the recipe with an earthy dryness; and licorice root rounds the palate with gentle sweetness and body. It is a textbook London Dry balance, which is exactly what makes a small numbered release interesting: the quality of each ingredient shows.
Ricardo Barguñó founded 100&NOMORE in 2021, starting with a Sichuan edition, and the range leans towards unusual flavours, from Oaxaca to the sherry-aged Jerez. Brighton is its more classic counterpoint. The brand leaves the perfect serve open to your favourite cocktail, and the recipe suits a dry Martini as well as a simple gin and tonic; an orange twist brings out the peel, and a couple of lightly crushed green cardamom pods repeat the spice on the nose.
