International Women's Day inspired Archie Rose Australian Opal Gin, released on 18 March 2026 in partnership with the National Gallery of Australia. The limited edition supports Know My Name, the gallery's initiative to increase the visibility of women artists and advance gender equity across the Australian arts sector.

The label brings together two celebrated works built on opal motifs: Jenny Kee's Oz Opal Scarf, created in 1982 for the opening of the National Gallery, and Linda Jackson's Wildflower Tunic from the mid-1970s. Jenny Kee has described the artworks as a love letter to the Australian environment, and Linda Jackson enjoys the fact that it is hard to tell when an artwork was created.

Inside the bottle is a dry-style gin with native Australian botanicals: Dorrigo pepperleaf, which brings a warm, savoury spice, sunrise lime for a bright citrus finish, and coriander seed for a complex, lifted flavour. Dorrigo pepper grows in the rainforests of northern New South Wales, and its leaves have a peppery heat that builds slowly on the palate. The gin was released at 40% ABV in a run of 250 bottles, priced at 89 Australian dollars.

It belongs to the Creator Series of Archie Rose Distilling Co. in Sydney, which works with leading creative figures to produce limited editions that combine art, storytelling and spirits. A delicate tonic leaves room for the lime and the pepperleaf, and a thin wheel of lime echoes the citrus finish. It is also a natural fit for a Gimlet, where its native lime and pepper notes can lead.
