Orange Slice
Garnish
Ginger SliceCassia, cubeb, cardamom and ginger shape the warm profile of The Shropshire Distillery Aromatic Spiced Gin. Sweet orange and juniper keep the recipe lifted and dry, while the bottle is produced by hand in small batches and released at 40% ABV.
The first aroma combines orange peel with woody cassia. Cardamom adds a fresh, camphor-like edge, cubeb contributes pepper and ginger brings a more immediate warmth. Juniper sits behind these spices as a steady dry reference rather than competing for the loudest note.
Across the palate, the sweet impression comes from aromatic spice and orange rather than heavy sugar. Citrus appears early, then clove-like and cinnamon-like tones gather through the middle. The finish returns to juniper, leaving a clean, lingering warmth and a last peppery flash of cubeb.
Every bottle is numbered, marked with its batch and signed by hand. Competition notes over several years have repeatedly highlighted the freshness of the nose, the breadth of the spice and the citrus character, which makes the gin easier to read than its generous botanical profile might suggest.
The producer proposes ginger ale or premium tonic with an orange slice. Dry ginger ale is the more expressive choice here: it lengthens the spice while orange keeps the drink bright. Add only a thin piece of fresh ginger so the garnish supports the distillation instead of overpowering it. Orange echoes the citrus already present, whereas fresh ginger sharpens the finish without masking cassia, cardamom or cubeb.

Orange Slice
Ginger SliceFill a balloon glass with clear ice, add 4 cl of gin and 10 cl of dry ginger ale.
Add an orange slice and a thin ginger slice inside the glass, then repeat both on a small board beside it.
