Martin Miller's Original Gin Description

Martin Miller's Original Gin uses separate distillations for its earthy botanicals and citrus botanicals. The spirit is distilled in England, then blended with Icelandic water naturally filtered through volcanic rock and bottled at 40%. This approach brings two different botanical characters together in a gin that balances juniper with citrus, flowers and gentle spice.

The nose combines a bright citrus fragrance with the fresh, resinous quality of juniper. Floral and fruity nuances soften that first impression, giving the aroma more breadth without obscuring the gin's main flavours. On the palate, the juniper and citrus remain closely balanced: the fruit provides freshness, while the herbal notes add a drier sensation. The mouthful develops gradually, leaving space for the subtler notes to become apparent after the initial citrus lift.

Cassia bark, cinnamon and nutmeg bring a measured warmth after the citrus. Coriander adds a fresher spice, while angelica and Florentine iris contribute earthy nuances. Liquorice root gives a softer, rounded impression beside these drier flavours. The silky mouthfeel allows those contrasts to develop without a sharp break between fruit and spice. Lemon and orange peels are distilled apart from the juniper and these earthier botanicals, then the distillates are combined. The finish is clean and soft, with juniper remaining perceptible after the brighter peel aromas fade.

To enjoy it as a gin and tonic, use an Indian tonic with lemon and orange peels. The tonic's bitterness supports the juniper, and the peels reinforce the citrus fragrance already present in the gin. Express each peel just once above the drink before adding it; their oils provide enough aroma without a more elaborate garnish. The contrast between lemon's brighter scent and orange's rounder fragrance makes the garnish a useful extension of the gin's citrus character.

Express each peel once over the glass; the separate citrus distillation already gives the gin ample aromatic lift.
