LingonberriesAnonia Gin – Rovaniemi is a 40% Belgian organic gin from Anonia's travel-inspired collection. Its name looks towards Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland, and the recipe draws its character from three highlighted botanicals: wild lingonberries, arctic rose and pine needles. Presented in a 50 cl bottle, it combines a clearly northern inspiration with the organic approach that runs through the Anonia range.
Juniper establishes the dry, recognisable foundation expected from gin. Wild lingonberries bring a taut, tangy berry note rather than a confectionery sweetness, while arctic rose adds a lighter floral lift. Pine needles give the profile its more resinous, woodland side and link the fruit and flowers to a cool, aromatic finish. These elements are distinct enough to give the gin a precise identity without losing the central role of juniper.
On the nose, the first impression is fresh and botanical, with juniper and pine leading into a red-fruit note that stays brisk. The palate follows the same direction: lingonberry brings acidity and brightness, the floral element softens the transition, and the pine note adds depth towards the finish. At 40% ABV, the style remains composed and approachable, with the botanical detail becoming clearer as the drink is chilled and lightly diluted.
For a gin and tonic, use a large balloon glass filled with clear ice, 5 cl of Anonia Gin – Rovaniemi and 15 cl of a clean Indian tonic. A small handful of lingonberries is enough to echo the fruit at the centre of the recipe. This restrained serve keeps the glass crisp and lets the berry, floral and resinous sides unfold without adding a competing raw herb garnish.
