Maison Bouvier Gin Normand a la Pomme Description

Normandy apple eau-de-vie gives Maison Bouvier's gin its clear orchard character. Bottled at 40% ABV in 70 cl, Gin Normand a la Pomme carries the Saveurs de Normandie designation and received a silver medal at the 2026 Concours Général Agricole in Paris. The recipe connects two clear traditions: the dry botanical structure of gin and the orchard fruit that defines much of Normandy's distilling culture.

The nose begins with fresh apple, followed by a more mature eau-de-vie character that can recall young Calvados. Juniper remains underneath with pine and gentle dryness. The apple is not treated as a sugary flavouring; it moves between crisp fruit, blossom and the warmer depth of distilled cider fruit. This gives the gin a recognizable regional accent while preserving enough resinous structure to keep it within the language of gin.

On the palate, juicy fruit and light floral notes arrive first. The apple eau-de-vie adds roundness through the middle, then juniper returns to make the finish fresh and clean. At 40%, the texture is approachable without becoming thin. The producer describes a fruity, floral palate and a light finish, making the bottle suitable both as a chilled digestif and in a Gin Tonic where the mixer is deliberately kept neutral.

Fill a highball with clear ice, pour 4 cl of Maison Bouvier Gin Normand a la Pomme and add 10 cl of Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water. Place a thin apple fan and three juniper berries in the glass, then repeat both on a small dish beside it. Use a firm, tart apple and do not add lemon juice: the garnish should underline the orchard fruit while leaving the eau-de-vie and juniper in balance.
