Gin d'Arc Reserve is the first barrel-aged release from the Loiret distillery. The 2026 bottling spends more than a year in a former bourbon cask that previously held Canadian maple syrup. It is bottled in France at 45% ABV and presented in a 50 cl format. The producer describes the result as rounded, indulgent and complex. Juniper remains the starting point of the gin, while the cask gives the finished spirit its defining woody character.
Woody · Limited Edition
The maturation brings the nose toward oak and warm spirit, with the former bourbon cask providing the context for its rounded impression. Maple syrup had occupied the cask before the gin: it belongs to the wood's history rather than to the recipe. In the mouth, the producer's description points to a fuller, more generous texture than an unaged gin. Juniper and the underlying botanical distillate keep it recognizable, while the wood leaves a lingering, warming finish.
Maison d'Arc produces and processes its spirits at its site in the Loiret, using cold infusions of botanicals in a juniper distillate for its gins. Reserve extends that approach through a long cask rest and is identified as the house's first gin aged in wood. Each bottle is numbered by hand and the release is described as very limited. The particular cask history and maturation period define this bottling.
The distillery recommends tasting Gin d'Arc Reserve neat to appreciate its aromatic complexity. For a slower serve, pour 5 cl into a small tasting glass over one large clear ice cube and let it rest briefly. A thin orange peel can then be added if desired, kept light so it does not mask the cask. A sweet tonic would cover the wood and juniper; this is a gin best approached as a short, spirit-led pour.
