Fresh Niseko lavender gives this limited ohoro release its floral character. Lavender is the official flower of Niseko, and the distillery uses locally grown blossoms from Hokkaido rather than treating the ingredient as a distant perfume. The gin is bottled at 47% ABV in a 700 ml format. That strength gives the flowers a firm botanical setting and prevents the profile from becoming soft or cosmetic.

The established ohoro base remains fully present. Juniper, coriander, angelica, orris and licorice provide structure and dry texture. Chamomile extends the floral register with a gentler tone, while lemon, orange, yuzu, lime and grapefruit bring brightness, aromatic oils and measured bitterness. Lavender sits at the centre of this arrangement, connected to both chamomile and citrus instead of floating alone above the spirit.

The nose is floral but fresh, combining lavender stems and blossoms with yuzu and lemon peel. On the palate, juniper and roots appear first, then chamomile rounds the middle before lavender becomes more expansive. Orange adds softness; lime and grapefruit tighten the finish. The 47% strength keeps each layer distinct and leaves a dry, lightly bitter conclusion in which local lavender remains clear without overwhelming the gin.

Serve 4 cl with 10 cl of Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water over large clear ice cubes. Add one narrow lemon peel and a very small fresh lavender sprig. The tonic's restrained bitterness and herbal citrus support the Niseko flower without adding another dominant flavour. Express the lemon once and avoid crushing the lavender; its natural aroma is enough to echo the gin.
