Lime PeelBox Moor Gin begins with an unusually local ingredient: British juniper harvested on the Box Moor Trust estate in Hertfordshire, only a short distance from Puddingstone Distillery. Originally launched under the name 1594, the year in which the Trust was founded, it is now released in short runs of around 400 bottles. Each batch draws its local juniper from a single plant and combines it with British coriander seed, British angelica root, orris root powder and fresh lime peel. The gin is distilled to London Dry standards and bottled at 40% ABV.
The local juniper brings pine notes together with a juicy, plum-like fruitiness and a green herbal accent. Coriander adds brightness and dry spice, while fresh lime peel gives the aroma a clear citrus edge. Angelica and orris provide the rooted structure beneath these livelier notes, contributing depth and a soft, lightly oily texture. The palate remains clean and robust, moving from bold juniper and sweet lime towards warm floral details and a crisp, gently earthy finish.
The recipe also carries a precise connection to Box Moor. Lime recalls the former Rose's Lime Juice activity at Boxmoor Wharf, while the orange and dark-brown bottle labels take their colours from the Belted Galloway cattle seen on the Trust's land. Puddingstone Distillery donates part of each bottle sale to the Box Moor Trust. These references never overwhelm the liquid itself: they frame a compact London Dry whose character comes from local juniper, fresh lime and a carefully controlled botanical structure.
For the GinToLove Perfect Serve, fill a chilled balloon glass with clear ice, pour 4 cl of Box Moor Gin and add 10 cl of Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water. Stir gently and finish with a thin twist of lime peel. The lime lifts the citrus already present in the recipe, while a neutral Indian tonic allows the fruity juniper and dry roots to remain distinct. The same balance works particularly well in a dry Martini, where the gin's soft texture and herbal finish can be appreciated without extra garnish.

Add 4 cl of Box Moor Gin, pour in 10 cl of Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water, and give the drink one gentle stir.
Express a narrow lime peel over the glass and place it neatly between the ice and the rim.
