Glaswegin Weegie Strength Gin Description

Glaswegin Weegie Strength Gin is the higher-strength side of the Glaswegin range, bottled at 55.8% ABV and presented by the brand as a Navy Strength gin. It keeps the identity of the original Glasgow recipe while giving the botanicals more weight in mixed drinks. The known lineage points back to Italian juniper, coriander, angelica, milk thistle, orange blossom, bay leaf, chamomile and pink peppercorn, but the higher ABV changes the balance: citrus and spice feel sharper, and the juniper carries further.

The nose is fuller than Glaswegin Original, with pine, citrus and pepper arriving more directly. Orange blossom and chamomile are still there, but they sit behind the structural botanicals rather than leading the conversation. On the palate, the gin has a broader texture and a firmer alcoholic grip. Bay leaf and angelica add dryness, pink peppercorn lifts the finish, and the citrus-floral detail keeps the high strength from feeling only powerful. The result is compact, dry and built for dilution.

For a gin and tonic, the serve should use a slightly shorter tonic ratio. Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water is the safest partner because it preserves the dry profile and lets the higher-strength gin open gradually over ice. An orange peel twist echoes the orange blossom and citrus, while a few pink peppercorns connect to the declared spice. The garnish should stay clean; this is not a gin that needs fruit salad in the glass.

Weegie Strength is most useful when a standard gin disappears too quickly in a cocktail. It can hold its line in a tonic, a Gimlet or a Negroni, and it offers a more assertive version of Glaswegin without losing the brand’s approachable floral edge. Serve it cold, measured and with plenty of ice, and it becomes powerful without turning heavy.

The shorter tonic ratio respects the 55.8% ABV. Orange and pink peppercorns keep the serve close to the Glaswegin botanical profile.
