Biggar Strength Gin Description

Biggar Strength Gin takes the distillery's classic botanical bill and gives it a higher-proof frame, with hawthorn berry added for a fruitier and more tart dimension. At 57% ABV, it is designed as a true Navy Strength rather than a standard gin with extra heat. Juniper, coriander, cardamom, cassia, citrus, rosehip, rowan, nettle and pink peppercorn all have more reach at this strength, so the gin feels broader without losing its dry centre.

The nose is more forceful than Biggar Original, with juniper, orange and lemon pushed forward by the alcohol. Cardamom and cassia bring warmth, while hawthorn adds a darker fruit note that sits between hedgerow berry and tart apple skin. The palate is full and energetic. Juniper arrives first, the citrus follows with concentration, and the spice becomes longer and more gripping. The finish is clean for the strength, with warmth, dry peel and a persistent fruit-spice echo.

For a G&T, the serve should be shorter and colder than usual. Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water gives the bitterness needed to keep the gin upright, but 9 cl is enough for 4 cl of spirit. Lemon peel brightens the citrus and avoids adding sweetness; a few pink peppercorns connect to the recipe and make the aroma more lively. This gin also makes sense in a Negroni, but the Perfect Serve stays focused on tonic because it shows the extra structure clearly.

Biggar Strength will suit drinkers who want intensity with detail. The added hawthorn is not a gimmick: it gives the navy-strength format a fruit accent that keeps the gin from becoming only hot and resinous. Served with restraint, it becomes a compact, powerful gin tonic with real spice, citrus and hedgerow depth.
