See the perfect serveGin de Nos Jardins is an organic French gin from Distillerie de l'Ort in Montignac-Lascaux, in the Perigord. Bottled at 44% ABV, it reflects the distillery's garden-led approach: aromatic plants, local inspiration and a recipe designed to feel grown before it feels engineered. Juniper gives the base, while thyme, rosemary, lavender, oregano, pink peppercorn, green cardamom and lemon peel bring the profile into a bright herbal register.
The nose is more like a warm garden path than a citrus-only gin. Rosemary and thyme arrive first, then lavender softens the aromatic edges and lemon peel gives lift. On the palate, the 44% ABV brings useful structure: the herbs stay clear, the cardamom adds gentle spice and pink peppercorn gives a light pulse to the finish. The balance remains dry, botanical and lively, never syrupy.
The associated gin and tonic keeps that garden identity in focus. Pour 5 cl of Gin de Nos Jardins into a glass filled with clear ice, add 12 cl of Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water and garnish with lemon peel and a fresh rosemary sprig. Lemon wakes up the citrus note, while rosemary links directly to the herbal core. It is also a good gin for a very dry Martini, provided the vermouth is used with restraint.
Its food pairing logic is also strong. The herbal structure makes sense with grilled vegetables, goat cheese, lemony fish or a simple tapenade, while the dry finish keeps it aperitif-friendly. It is not a gin that needs exotic garnish to feel distinctive; its identity is already in the way the garden herbs, citrus and spice hold together.
