Lime TwistFlavored Gin · 40 % ABV · GB-SCT
Edinburgh Gin Key Lime & Ginger is a 40% ABV Scottish flavoured gin that places two vivid ingredients alongside the distillery's juniper-led house style. Fresh key limes supply the citrus focus, while ginger root gives the recipe a warmer, more energetic counterpoint. The bottle was introduced in the Edinburgh Gin full-strength range for travel retail, retaining a proper gin strength rather than moving into the lower-proof territory of a liqueur.
Citrus · Spicy
Key lime is smaller and often more aromatic than the standard lime used in everyday mixed drinks. Here it brings a compact, lively citrus character with tartness and perfume at once. Ginger root builds on that freshness with a dry warmth that extends the flavour beyond the first citrus impression. Juniper holds the two together, lending a clear botanical base and preventing the lime-and-ginger pairing from reading as a simple soft-drink flavour.
The nose opens on bright lime peel and fresh ginger, with juniper appearing as a cooler, piney line beneath.
On the palate, the citrus is immediate and zesty, then the ginger gradually adds spice and a gently warming lift. At 40% ABV, the gin remains firm enough for the botanicals to stay defined when mixed. The finish is clean, citrus-led and peppery, with ginger lingering after the lime has faded.
Edinburgh Gin itself recommends serving this gin with tonic, plenty of ice, a squeeze of lime juice and a lime twist. That simple preparation is the most direct way to underline the recipe. It also makes an effective base for a highball with soda and a little extra lime, or for a Gimlet variation where its ginger note adds a drier, more aromatic dimension.
