Raspberry and MintTarquin's Rhubarb & Raspberry Gin is a 38% ABV flavoured gin from Cornwall, United Kingdom. Tarquin's starts with small-batch distilled Cornish Gin and post-distillation infuses it with British rhubarb and raspberries. This method keeps a recognisable juniper base while giving the bottle its blush colour and a clearly fruit-led profile. It is not presented as a jammy liqueur: the producer's own notes balance tart rhubarb, fresh berry character, citrus and spice.
Lemon sherbet, fresh raspberries and soft juniper lead the nose. The palate moves towards rhubarb sorbet, crisp pine and Eastern spice, then finishes with tart raspberry jam, zesty citrus and frangipane. That sequence gives useful tasting landmarks: smell for the berry first, then look for the sharper rhubarb and juniper in the middle, rather than judging it only by its pink colour. The balance is fruit-forward, yet tartness and pine keep it lively.
Taste a chilled 2 cl pour before making a longer drink. The neat sample makes the contrast between raspberry sweetness and rhubarb acidity much easier to read. With ice, the profile becomes softer and the spice can show more clearly. A dry or bitter mixer can be interesting, but the producer specifically recommends ginger ale; choose one that is not overly sweet and keep the proportions measured.
For the official-style Perfect Serve, fill a balloon glass with clear ice, pour 5 cl gin and add 12 cl Fever-Tree Ginger Ale. Stir gently, then garnish with two fresh raspberries and a small mint sprig. Ginger supports the published spice note while the raspberries echo the infusion; mint adds freshness without changing the central rhubarb-and-raspberry theme. Taste again after the ice has melted slightly, when the tart rhubarb and piney juniper become more apparent.
