Best enjoyed with Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water, garnished with finger lime wheel and fresh lime leaf.
See the perfect serveLanders Lime Gin is a 40% ABV Australian gin developed by Never Never Distilling Co. with Landers Pocket, its first distillery collaboration outside South Australia. The project draws on Queensland ingredients and a bright, relaxed citrus style. Native finger lime, white grapefruit, fresh ginger, Australian pepper berry, lime leaf and distilled coconut cream are set around a dry juniper base in a 700 mL bottling.
The nose is immediately fresh and detailed. Finger lime brings a sharp, aromatic lime note, while white grapefruit adds a drier citrus edge. Freshly grated ginger and pepper berry introduce a light spark of spice, and lime leaf adds a bruised green scent that keeps the fruit from becoming candy-like. Coconut appears as a soft supporting note rather than a sweet tropical flavour.
The palate starts with bright citrus, then moves through earthy ginger root and a fuller, oily coconut texture. Pepper berry contributes gentle warmth, while the finish returns to a classic London Dry-like juniper richness. The overall shape remains clear and lively: citrus leads, spice provides movement and the juniper finish keeps the gin composed and dry.
For a gin and tonic, use 5 cl of Landers Lime Gin with 15 cl of Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water over clear ice in a balloon glass. A thin finger-lime wheel and one lime leaf are enough to mirror the gin's own ingredients. The tonic should be very cold and added last so its fizz carries the fresh citrus notes without obscuring the ginger or pepper berry.
It also has the energy for a lemon, lime and bitters-style long drink, but a simple measured tonic preparation is the clearest way to follow its progression from vivid lime to dry juniper. Taste it at first pour and again after a short rest, when the coconut and spice become more apparent.
