Silent Pool Thai Lime Expression Gin is a 43% ABV flavoured gin from Silent Pool Distillery in Surrey. It was first released in 2023 as a special limited edition, then brought back into the Silent Pool range. The idea behind this bottling is precise: to take the Thai lime note already present in the flagship Silent Pool Gin and place it at the centre of the tasting, while keeping the dry, botanical structure expected from the distillery's style.

The recipe focuses on a compact aromatic triangle. Thai lime provides the vivid citrus line, with a zestier and more peppery character than a simple sweet lime note. Juniper berries keep the gin anchored in a recognisable gin structure, bringing pine, resin and dryness. Chamomile adds a floral softness, while vetiver contributes a more grounded, root-like depth. The result is not a sweet citrus gin; it is closer to a bright, dry and aromatic gin built around lime, flowers and green botanicals.

On the nose, the first impression is fresh and citrus-led. Thai lime comes forward with a sharp, fragrant brightness, followed by juniper with its pine-rich character. Chamomile appears more gently, softening the sharper edges of the citrus, while vetiver adds a dry, earthy and slightly woody undertone. The aromatic profile feels clean and lifted rather than heavy, with the lime acting as the main thread through the glass.

On the palate, the gin opens with zesty lime and a peppery citrus bite. Juniper gives structure immediately after the attack, preventing the fruit from becoming too simple or confectionery. Chamomile gives the middle of the palate a calmer floral note, while vetiver adds depth and a drier texture. This balance between brightness and dryness is the strongest point of the gin: the citrus is lively, but the finish remains controlled, botanical and refreshing.

The finish is long, clean and centred on dry lime, with gentle floral notes and a light spice sensation. Silent Pool recommends serving it with premium Mediterranean tonic water and a slice of fresh lime. This serve makes sense because the tonic's softer herbal profile supports the chamomile and vetiver, while the lime garnish reinforces the gin's main aromatic direction without adding unnecessary sweetness.
