Salcombe Gin Rose Sainte Marie Description

Salcombe Gin Rosé Sainte Marie is a British flavoured gin from Salcombe Distilling Company, inspired by the Mediterranean coast and built around a dry rosé-like aromatic profile. Rosé Sainte Marie brings a softer, more perfumed side to the Salcombe range while keeping a dry gin foundation. The expression focuses on red fruit, citrus blossom and delicate spice rather than heavy sweetness.

The botanical list includes Mongolian juniper berries, strawberries, angelica, lemon peel, orange peel, lemon verbena, rose petals, orange blossom and pink peppercorns. Strawberry gives the gentle fruit tone, rose and orange blossom build the floral register, and pink peppercorns add a fine, modern spice. The style is flavoured but remains gin-led, with citrus peel and juniper keeping the profile from becoming a simple fruit liqueur.

The nose is elegant and fragrant, with strawberry, rose, orange blossom and citrus peel. On the palate, the fruit is measured: strawberry gives roundness, lemon verbena and citrus add freshness, and pink pepper brings a subtle dry sparkle. The finish is floral, lightly fruity and clean.

At 41.4% ABV, it is made for a refined gin and tonic with elderflower tonic, strawberry or a small citrus garnish. It also suits spritz-style long drinks where its rosé-inspired profile can stay fresh and elegant.

Its elegance depends on restraint. The strawberry and floral botanicals are most convincing when they are treated as accents rather than as syrupy decoration, so the serve should keep the drink cold, clear and dry enough to let the gin’s rosé-inspired character stay sophisticated.

ExpertAdvice
Rosé Sainte Marie needs delicacy. Elderflower tonic supports the floral botanicals, while dehydrated strawberry brings a dry red-fruit echo. Avoid fresh crushed berries here; they would make the serve heavier and less precise.

Instructions

Build in a chilled balloon glass over large ice cubes.

Pour 5 cl of Salcombe Gin Rosé Sainte Marie, then add 15 cl of Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic Water slowly.

Stir gently and garnish with a dehydrated strawberry slice.

The elderflower tonic supports the floral side of the gin, while strawberry echoes its red-fruit accent without adding syrupy weight.

The drink should remain pale, fragrant and fresh, with strawberry as an accent rather than a dessert note.
