Procera Blue Dot Gin Description

Procera Blue Dot Gin is distilled in Nairobi and built around fresh Juniperus procera berries, a species of African juniper that gives the gin its central identity. The brand presents Blue Dot as its original signature release, designed for slow sipping and for very dry martinis, with an aromatic structure that puts juniper at the front rather than using it as a quiet background note.

The recipe brings together eleven African botanicals. Fresh Juniperus procera forms the backbone, supported by Swahili lime, Pixie orange, Selim pepper, pink peppercorn, cardamom, coriander, mace, green tea, acacia honey and orris root. This combination explains the gin's unusual balance: it has a clearly resinous and earthy foundation, but the citrus elements keep the profile lifted, while spices, tea and honeyed notes add texture and depth.

On the nose, Procera Blue Dot is bright and juniper-forward, with zesty citrus, a lightly nutty herbal layer and a clean earthy undertone. The palate is rounded without feeling sweet. Juniper remains the leading thread, followed by restrained citrus, green tea freshness, warm spice and a savoury accent that gives the gin a distinctive gastronomic quality. The finish is persistent, soft and complex, with pepper, citrus peel and dry botanical notes lingering together.

At 44% alcohol, Blue Dot has enough precision for a Martini, where its fresh juniper and citrus can stay sharply defined, but it also works in a gin and tonic when the mixer is chosen carefully. A Mediterranean tonic, a dehydrated lime wheel and a small touch of botanical salt fit the gin's own profile: the serve should remain dry, mineral and aromatic rather than sweet. The bottle itself, with its hand-blown glass and palm-wood stopper, reinforces the craft positioning without being the main reason to drink it; the real interest is the way Procera turns African juniper into a complete gin language.

This serve should stay dry and precise. The Mediterranean tonic supports the citrus and herbal side of Blue Dot, while the lime and botanical salt connect with Procera's own savoury recommendation without overwhelming the fresh Juniperus procera character.
